A million bucks used to seem like a lot of money not anymore. Now you need a billion to keep with the Joneses in the penthouse next door. "In the old days, a millionaire was someone who had a million dollars. Today, it's someone who makes a million dollars a year," Stuart Becker, a high-net-worth adviser with J.H. Cohn LLP told New York Magazine. A million? Bah! Look at these rising costs: a Klimt will cost you $135 million; a quick trip into outer space, $20 million; a bat mitzvah to remember, $10 million; and a good steak, $1400. It's a good thing Bush pushed through those tax cuts.
